Picture of the Day 19.7.2012: water lilies blossom in Nuuksio National Park’s Mustalampi

Lilies-blossom-in-Nuuksio-MustalampiSummer 2012 has been rainy and cold up to the last couple of days. When the day is finally sunny and warm it is nice to go to Nuuksio National Park to testify water lilies blossomin in numbers at Mustalampi lake. Accordingly this Picture of the Day at July 19th is from those lilies, with water relflecting the clear blue sky.

Another reason to go to Nuuksio is the fact that the forest holds unsual amounts of blueberries that have just ripened, and are also unusually big at sunny spots of the forest. In Finland it is everyman’s right to pick berries from forest, and currently I feel it is more like everyman’s duty. Wild blueberries are real superfood, surpassing e.g. acai berries in nutritional value, and taste much better – especially when picked directly to your mouth 🙂
